52 Scripture: Judges 13:2–5, 16:17–19, 16:23–30 There once was a man named Samson. He was one of the strongest men on earth. No one could even begin to think of challenging him, and those who even tried were killed. The Bible even says he tore a lion apart with his bare hands! A lion! One time he even fought a thousand men by himself—and won! He was crazy-strong. It was unbelievable. Do you know where he got his strength? God gave it to him with the promise that he would always be tough unless he cut his hair. As Samson grew up, he was set apart for God to use him. It was promised that he would deliver the Israelites from their enemies, the Philistines. That's a lot of responsibility to carry. But if God gives you a job to do, He will always give you the strength and courage to carry it out. Unfortunately, Samson made a few mistakes along the way and told a woman named Delilah about the source of his strength: his hair never being cut. Delilah had been persuaded by the promise of money from the Philistines to give up Samson's secret. She took the offer and had a man cut off Samson's hair while Samson slept. This was the moment the Philistines had been waiting for! Samson finally didn't have the physical strength to fight them. But God gave Samson another chance to defeat them. When all the Philistines were at a party, Samson cried out to God to give him strength one last time. He pushed on the building, and it came toppling down on all those Philistines. God is the one who gives us our gifts. Your gift may be that you are athletic. It might be that you are smart, or maybe you are the one who makes everyone laugh and smile. When God created you, He made you just the way you are. Every detail was created by Him. Just like He gave Samson superhuman strength, He's given you special talents too. And when God calls you to use these skills, He will give you the power and bravery to do it! He may not ask you to topple a building. He may just ask you to go sit by the new kid in class who doesn't know anyone—but every job is important. Be watching for what God asks you to do—and be amazed when He gives you supernatural courage to do it! BIBLE TRUTH
