62 MISSION: POSSIBLE Production Notes SUMMARY Mission: Possible is a fun, scripture-filled musical for kids, bursting with biblical truths. Your students will learn that, as believers, no matter where they are, no matter what their talents are, and no matter the circumstances, they have been given a mission – they have been called to spread the Good News of Jesus to the world around them. Join this entertaining group of students for a very different and exciting school morning as they begin their mission to spread the message of God's love. Along the way, our Mission Possible kids learn that God's commandment to "go and preach the Gospel to all the world, to all creation," doesn't mean we always have to travel to some dark, remote corner of the world to fulfill our mission—There are people all around us, in our neighborhoods and schools, who need to hear the Good News that God loves them! Fulfilling that assignment is our MISSION: POSSIBLE! This musical is about 28 minutes in length. CHARACTER LIST KELSEY Enthusiastic, optimistic, motivated and loves an adventure RILEY Not excited about school, but jumps right in figuring out what the mission is. SETH He's a bit sleepy, but during the progression of the musical he "wakes up." ANNIE Normal school-aged girl worried more about not having time to visit with friends than being late to school. KRIS Late to the bus stop. He is observant and asks good questions. BUS DRIVER Happy and caring adult (could be played by an older teen or adult) SET/STAGING The entire musical takes place at a school bus stop. You can make the set simple, only having a school bus stop sign, or you can add additional elements that you might find at a school bus stop like shrubs, large artificial rocks, or even a fire hydrant! Center stage: school bus stop sign Stage left: choir risers Stage right: choir risers Middle of scene 5, the bus driver "pulls up" to the bus stop and gets out to talk with the kids. Based on your space, determine which direction it would be best for him to come from. Have kids from the choir casually step and "get in" the bus when he gets off to keep it upright. (See Props section for a creative way to make a bus.) PRODUCTION Lighting Light the stage and choir risers uniformly. Add spotlights as necessary for main actors. Audio For best results, mic your children's choir separately and provide wireless headsets/lavalier mics for speaking characters. Remember to check microphone batteries before the start of the show! 62 642173-62 For Preview Only
