(CANDLE LIGHTER moves to center stage holding a lighted candle. CANDLE
LIGHTER does not light the CHRIST candle. CANDLE LIGHTER returns to choir
after narration.)
CANDLE LIGHTER or NARRATOR 8:
Soon we will light the Christ Candle to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It will be a
glorious time for which we have waited and prepared. God's perfect Light will
shine in our darkness and even the deepest shadows will never overcome it.

NARRATOR 9:
Let us, then, prepare our hearts, so every heart may be a shining candle lifted high
for all to see. And may its flame of holy light be the spark that brings hope, peace,
joy, and love into our world.
