Foreword F eaturing original music interspersed with familiar carols, Sing with the Angels! is a musical for SATB choir that re-tells the Christmas story from the vantage point of angels. O nl y Angels are referenced throughout the scriptures and play a major role in the story of Christ's birth, from Gabriel's first appearance to Zacharias, to the glorious scene of angels filling the heavens singing "Gloria in excelsis Deo." vi ew The range of musical styles reflects the various moods of the angels' scenes, making this a colorful tapestry of angel portraits. The program ends on a high note with the congregation joining to sing "Angels We Have Heard on High," and "Hark! the Herald Angels Sing." re At 30 minutes, this work will fit well into a worship service or special program. Accompaniment can be provided by piano or a chamber orchestra with parts for Flute, Clarinet, Violin I & II (divisi), Cello, French Horn, Trumpet, Percussion and Electric Bass. Fo rP It is my hope that this celebration of our Savior's birth will serve to fill your congregation with the glorious images and sounds of the angels, just as the world experienced on that first Christmas. Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies; with the angelic host proclaim, "Christ is born in Bethlehem" Hark! the herald angels sing, "Glory to the newborn King." Joel Raney
