Go to cart Boats Sail on the Rivers—Mark Patterson. This choral setting of a brief and simple poem by Christina Rossetti offers a poignant comparison between things made by people and the things found in the natural world. With lovely harmonies and a flowing piano accompaniment, this piece will appeal to treble ensembles looking for growth in tone, text, and musical line development. 11193970 SSA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.25 L Cantate Domino—Mark Hayes. Pure energy from start to finish, this dynamic original incorporates both Latin and English lyrics, which are brought to life by the toccata-like piano accompaniment. Vocal layering is a key sectional element and facilitates teaching. Mixed meter enhances text declamation, and driving syncopations propel it towards a dramatic ending. 11195622 SSA. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.20 L Celtic Blessing (from "Songs for the Jour- ney")—Kevin Siegfried. This final movement of Songs for the Journey is set to the traditional Irish blessing, "May the road rise up to meet you." 11164361 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.35 Child of Wonder (from "The Sacred Veil")— Eric Whitacre. The final movement of "The Sacred Veil", a twelve-movement work written with poet Charles Anthony Silvestri that chronicles the rich life of Tony and his late wife Julie, this plaintive piece serves as a benediction and farewell. Opening in divisi a cappella harmonies, the piano enters with a flowing motive to underscore the text "Turn your silvered sail toward the light ... stretched on ocean waves of endless foam, welcome home, my child, welcome home." 11196196 SATB divisi . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.75 t Circa Mea—Mark Burrows. An interesting take on a section of text from the medieval Latin "Carmina Burana." This setting uses modal harmonies, a haunting melodic line, and transfixing percussion to express the mysterious nature of the text. 11200617 TTBB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.65 Considering Matthew Shepard: A Choral Suite—Craig Hella Johnson. The profound work Considering Matthew Shepard has been moving audiences around the world with its compelling message of love and acceptance. An abbreviated version of the larger work, this 25-minute suite uses the healing power of music to create a memorable experience for singers and all who hear the piece. 11203886 SATB Choral Score . . . . . . . M 8.95 Deep Field—Eric Whitacre. Eric Whitacre's Deep Field, arranged for wind ensemble and choir, was inspired by the world's most famous space observatory, the Hubble Space Telescope, and one of its greatest discoveries, the iconic Deep Field image. This is the choral part as performed by the epic Virtual Choir in the film "Deep Field: The Impossible Magnitude of Our Universe," which represents 120 countries with over 8,000 voices aged four to 87 alongside the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Eric Whitacre Singers. 10759889 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.75 DL Dies Irae (from "Requiem")—Michael John t Trotta. Pulsating rhythmic ostinatos, cluster harmonies, and soaring soprano lines are all present in this exciting a cappella concert work, possessing all the elements you'd expect from the composer of Veni, Veni Emmanuel. Based on the 13th century Dies Irae chant, the exciting minor texture contrasts driving rhythms and beautiful legato singing, while still remaining accessible. A perfect way to showcase your choir as a concert opener, closer, or for festival use. 11315425 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.65 L Do Not Stand and Weep—Greg Gilpin. Pro- foundly moving, this musically sensitive work brings a deeper level of understanding to Mary Elizabeth Frye's immortal poem. An opening section of gorgeous layered harmonies moves into a more free-flowing melodic interpretation of the text in a stunning setting. 11195577 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.25 D Early Winter Tree—Russell Nadel. A breath- taking setting of Sara Teasdale's poem Leaves, this piece uses a unique harmonic language that paints a picture in a gorgeous way. The slow, reflective tempo lends itself to the gentle dissonances, glissandos, and delicate text painting. The evocative piano or harp accompaniment plays an integral part in this composition. 11200738 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.10 Lt Earth Song—Frank Ticheli. A cry for peace in a world torn by war, this poignant a cappella setting of an original text is filled with striking dynamic contrasts. "Sing, Be, Live, See... This dark stormy hour, the wind, it stirs. The scorched earth cries out in vain... But music and singing have been my refuge, and music and singing shall be my light..." 11196150 SSAA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.25 Everyday Wonders (The Girl from Aleppo)— Cecilia McDowall. Everyday Wonders: The Girl from Aleppo tells the extraordinary story of Nujeen Mustafa, a Kurdish teenager with cerebral palsy forced by war to flee her home and embark on an arduous journey to Europe with her sister. Pushed in a wheelchair by her sister, Nasrine, from Aleppo to Germany, her journey was the subject of much publicity. Throughout many months, Nujeen remained brave, blithe and articulate. This 18-minute cantata traces Nujeen's journey with a musical narrative using chorales, haunting vocal solos, intense solo violin passages, restless choruses, and body percussion to follow the sisters through various countries to their ultimate destination in Germany. It is the story of a journey of hope and extraordinary fortitude against all odds. The five movements are: 1. Orphans of the World; 2. Thousands milling at the border (The Journey); 3. I had never seen the sea before; 4. A lost tribe pushed from border to border; 5. Everyday Wonders. 11315643 SSA Vocal Score . . . . . . . . . . 12.95 L Exsultate! Jubilate!—Kyle Pederson. This unique setting pairs the iconic Latin text with a new, original English text which responds to the question: Why do we rejoice and shout our praises to God? The music captures the energy, rhythm, and exuberance inherent in the phrases "exsultate Deo" and "jubilate Deo," but also reflects the quiet joys found in gratitude for the daily gifts of breath and light. The piano accompaniment is rhythmic and lively. 11197399 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.60 11208080 SSAA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.60 D Feeling Infinite—Dominick DiOrio. Alternating between quiet and fervent, this music struggles to give form to memories that exist no longer as sharp images but as blurry clouds. With a piano part that never quite settles as it reaches back into the past, the poetry of young poet Eleanor Wikstrom is always front and center as the singers wrestle with the unsettling emotion of "Feeling Infinite." 11203141 TTBB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.25 Flying Solo—Philip E. Silvey. This powerful message is about mustering the courage to leap from one stage of life into the next. Melodic lines are juxtaposed with a lively piano accompaniment creating bold expressiveness and strong har-- monies in this fantastic original concert offering. 11195041 SATB. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
