FOREWORD Craig Adams Unchanging. Immovable. Sovereign. Almighty. Loving. Gracious. Selfless. Holy. All of these words describe our Savior, Jesus Christ. But there is one word that sums up all of His attributes: WORTHY! Because of who He is and what He has done, no one else is deserving of all glory, honor, dominion, power, and praise! The angels proclaimed His worth to a few unsuspecting shepherds just outside Bethlehem. Kings and wise men recognized His excellence. Mary and Joseph marveled at the glory of their Son. Still, the circumstances surrounding Jesus' arrival were not what one might expect for the birth of the highest King in all of creation. Yet, it was exactly as God had planned. In heaven's economy, greatness is synonymous with selflessness and servanthood. Jesus is certainly worthy of praise, simply because He is the only Son of God. His bloodline is second to none. But God wanted all of us to share in the providence of heaven. So, He provided a spotless Lamb of redemption and model servant in and of the person of Emmanuel. Eternity's King stooped to the very depths of humanity, conquering the dominion of sin and providing all who would believe the certain hope of everlasting life. As you sing and celebrate this Christmas season, my prayer is that you will more intentionally consider the whole of what Christ accomplished for you in coming to earth. He, alone, holds an unparalleled and unrivaled throne. Yet, He traded His regal residence for the desperation of mankind's reckless plight. His heart cannot be bigger. His grace cannot be wider. His forgiveness cannot be more complete. And His return cannot be more imminent. From now until He returns to take us home, may we never tire of singing, "He alone is worthy!"
