Gaudete—John A. Behnke. Gaudete literally
means rejoice in Latin and is a sacred Christmas
carol that was thought to have been composed
in the 16th century. The 3rd Sunday of Advent
is sometimes called Gaudete Sunday. This
arrangement combines the Gaudete chant with
another hymn of joy, that being Joy to the World,
which bursts forth at the end of the piece. The
piece is lively and spirited and uses LV and mixed
