Who but God would have chosen a simple village girl and her unassuming husband to give birth to, and then become the parents of, the Savior of the world? Who would have imagined that Bethlehem, a small town of little regard, would become the holy birthplace of God's only Son? And those shepherds – they were outcasts, really – they were looked down upon by most of society. And none of us would have selected them to be the very first of earth's inhabitants to proclaim the Good News of Christ's birth. Fo r Pr ev ie But in this story, God's ways are not man's ways; and the same is true today.
