39 [After the song, ADAM looks frantically around the stage.] ADAM: H2O! H2O! Where are you? I need you! [H2O, ADAM's talking dog steps forward from the CHOIR.] I'm right behind you! Your official talking dog. Man's best friend, and all of that stuff. ADAM: I'll never forget the day I mixed up the wrong potion and you drank it by mistake. Who would have thought it would make you talk instead of bark! H2O: Well, I still bark, but only at night, and at parked cars. ADAM: And don't forget the postal carrier. H2O: Ah, yes, these are a few of my favorite things. ADAM: I'm distressed. It's Christmastime and I just don't feel it in my heart. Besides, my life is boring. People call me "incredible," but I'm not incredible. I'm just ordinary. H2O: But you have such wonderful adventures in your daydreams. ie w O nl y H2O: HOST 1: Oh, like the time you dreamed of being a pirate! ADAM: re v [H2O opens the steamer trunk and pulls out a pirate hat, which he puts on ADAM. He enjoys the moment by putting his hand to his forehead and "looking out to sea," etc. The music ends and he sadly returns the hat to H2O, who puts it back in the trunk.] But I'm afraid of the water, so that didn't work. HOST 2: [encouragingly] Or the time you dreamed of being an archeologist! ADAM: rP [H2O opens the steamer trunk and pulls out a magnifying glass, which he gives to ADAM. He "inspects" some of the faces of the audience with the magnifying glass. The music ends and he sadly returns it to H2O, who puts it back in the trunk.] That was a flop, too, because I don't like dirt. Fo HOST 3: [encouragingly] What about the time you dreamed you were a race car driver? [H2O opens the steamer trunk and pulls out a cardboard steering wheel, which he gives to ADAM. He weaves in and out and "drives" around the stage during the music. The music ends and he sadly returns it to H2O, who puts it back in the trunk.] ADAM: But...I can't drive! H2O: Just be thankful you're not on a leash! ADAM: I need an exciting and new adventure. Something to prove that - indeed - I am truly incredible! HOST 1: He thought and thought.
