Rounds Plus—arr. Roger Emerson. Rounds are
a wonderful way to introduce harmony to young
singers! However, traditional rounds often have too
wide a range for changing voices, so this collection
was created with the male changing voice in mind.
Fun and easy-to-sing ostinatos for the changing
male voice accompany ten familiar rounds sung by
treble voices. Additionally, each round is presented
with two key options to accommodate the cambiata,
mid-voice and new baritone range comfortably.
Experiment with other keys until you find your
choirs' sweet spot vocally. This experimentation will
give you a good idea of the range and tessitura that
will be effective for your group, which you can then
apply to your choral literature selection process.
This reproducible collection of unaccompanied
rounds may be taught entirely by ear or duplicated
for sight-reading purposes. Titles include: Dona
Nobis Pacem; Down by the Bay; Heigh Ho,
Nobody's Home; Jubilate Deo; London's Burning;
Music Alone Shall Live and more.

10 Songs of the Sea—arr. Gwyn Arch. When
we think of songs connected with the sea, our
thoughts are likely to turn to sea shanties, and
indeed, shanties are well represented in this
collection. However, there are plenty of traditional
folk songs where the sea forms the backdrop
of the story. Songs from England, Scotland,
the Bahamas, the United States, and Brazil all
contribute to this compilation. The shanties
were work songs once commonly sung on board
large merchant sailing vessels and associated
with the hard labor of setting sails, raising the
anchor, etc., invariably requiring coordinated
effort. In their 19th-century heyday, shanties
were sung only in work-based contexts and were
never designed for entertainment. The switch to
steam-powered ships and the use of machinery
for shipboard tasks meant that shanties gradually
ceased to serve a practical function. However,
recordings by veteran sailors and commercial
artists have ensured the continuing popularity of
the art form. This choral edition includes the full
score (choral parts with piano accompaniment)
along with pages with just the vocal parts that are
reproducible for your choir. A budget-stretcher for
tenor-bass choirs!

Considering Matthew Shepard—Craig Hella
Johnson. The Chicago Tribune writes: "Moving
among styles ranging from Lutheran hymnody to
blues to Broadway, this modern-day Passion will
move many listeners to tears even as it reaches
beyond tragedy to peace, understanding and
forgiveness." On the eve of the 20th anniversary
of this tragic event, Craig Hella Johnson has written
a modern fusion oratorio incorporating a variety of
musical styles along with texts from Rumi, Hildegard
of Bingen, Leslea Newman, and Michael Dennis
Browne as well as excerpts from Matt's journals,
interviews with his parents, and newspaper reports.
For the advanced choir looking to make an impact
on students and community, this is worth every bit
of effort it requires. One of the most important major
works of our time. The second edition includes all
new narration for movement 31 Thank You. This
narration is available from the publisher for those
who have previously purchased the first edition of
the work.
