Aia la 'o Pele i Hawai'i—Jace Kaholokulu Saplan.
Based on a traditional Hawaiian chant with original music, this rousing
work for advanced treble choirs brings all the drama of a volcanic eruption
normally associated with destruction. But in Hawai'ian culture, Pele - the
goddess of volcanos and fire - also evokes awe and veneration. Layered
ostinato patterns and dramatic divisi harmonies, along with the use of the
Ipu, a Hawaiian percussion instrument, create an exciting experience!

Chante Waste Hoksila (My Kind-Hearted Boy)—
arr. Linthicum-Blackhorse. Here is a traditional Lakota lullaby sung by
mothers to their young boys. The Lakota language has become nearly
extinct, but composer/arranger Linthicum-Blackhorse has made it his
life's work to bring the language back to life. In this arrangement, the IPA
pronunciation guide is included in the body of the music in order to make
it accessible to all singers and choirs. Dedicated to the victims of the Robb
Elementary School mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

Mang'ong'o—arr. Otenio R. Sylvester. This celebratory African song is a
Kenyan Samia/Banyala victory song traditionally performed during wrestling
matches. Over time, the context changed to include the celebration of any
form of success, including graduations, elections, and even a return to health
after being sick. The setting is for soloist with choir in an up-tempo call-and-
