Performance Suggestions and Narration #1 Beautiful Cand lelight Sugges on: Begin the service by singing "O Come, All Ye Faithful" with the congrega on and choir. The choir may process during the singing of the carol, or it may be sung from the back and/or around the sides of the sanctuary, surrounding the congrega on. The choir may then process from there while singing "Beau ful Candlelight," as it is both repe ous and easily memorized, making it ideal for that use. Just before the first notes of "Interlude #1" (provided below), slowly dim the sanctuary lights. You may choose to process with ba ery-operated candles. Another possibility would be to sing "Beau ful Candlelight" from the choir lo while others bring candles or light those already in place. The narrator may also bring a candle and set it in place on the stage table. (The narra on begins a er the "O come, all ye faithful" phrase of Interlude #1 is heard four mes. The narra on may con nue beyond the end of the musical underscore if necessary) Narrator #1: The smallest candle can pierce the blackest darkness. So now, we bring our can- dles to remind us of when the Light of the world came to live among us. Narrator #2: In the first chapter of John we read, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. The true Light that offers light to everyone was coming into the world. Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, those He proclaimed to be children of God." Narrator #1: In this season, we come as children of God to celebrate the Child, the Light of the world. *More complete performance sugges ons and insights from the composer are available as a free download.
