Scene 2 LUCAS: Hey, look! I scored! I sold two more trees. And I got us a large tip after they saw me lift the tree up with one hand. (MR. CARMICHAEL enters.) KIDS: (giggle) ABIGAIL: Oh, my! With this money we have enough to make three little girls very happy. I need an Elsa doll, an Elsa costume, and Elsa backpack! MR. CARMICHAEL: I'll get those for… KARLY: Oh, Elsa's my favorite! GWEN and ADDISON: (sings) Let it go! Let it go! MR. CARMICHAEL: Enough of the song, girls! Let it go! Please! I'll go get those for you. Give me the money. Let it go! ABIGAIL: (sneezes) Excuse me. JACOB: Dios le bendiga. (Spanish) (hands her a Kleenex) ABIGAIL: Gracias, Jacob! Here's the money, Mr. Carmichael. This should be enough. (sniff sniff) (Hands him money – which he carefully takes to avoid germs – and he goes back to store) MR. CARMICHAEL: (aside) Good thing I've got tons of hand sanitizer in the store. ABIGAIL: I really hope we sell enough trees to get all those gifts. Oh, I forgot about the bake sale — how's that going, girls? GWEN: It's going great! We've got gluten free… ADDISON: … fat free… GWEN: … sugar free… ADDISON: … and peanut free! LUCAS: Sounds flavor free to me! GWEN: Anyway – You won't believe this – About 5 minutes ago a guy started something. He said it was called "Pay it forward." KARLY: What's that mean? ADDISON: Well, he wanted to pay for the person's food behind him. As a gift. 28 For Preview Only
