STORYTELLER: The ancient prophets frequently described God in terms of the mighty and lofty cedar. Highly prized for its color, strength and wonderful fragrance, the cedar was chosen for King Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem and for the palaces of Solomon and David.
The prophets regarded evergreens—the cedar, pine and fir trees—as symbols of Christ's eternal kingdom. As we hang these branches in God's sanctuary, we rejoice in the fulfillment of ancient promises: the reign of justice, truth and peace.
