FOREWORD Come on a journey into the future to a galaxy far away. I can't wait to introduce you to the Christian crew of the starship "Star Quest J-316," who is on a mission to boldly spread God's love in the greater Omega Galaxy! Paper has been outdated, and all written communication is now digital, as believers can only read their Cyber Bibles on the Intergalactic Bible Database. You will meet Captain Holly Grammar and her crew, who love to share the love of God throughout the galaxy but were never taught the importance of Bible memorization. The theme of memorizing God's Word permeates this musical as the crew encounters a villain named Deletor from the planet M-Nezia, who manages to use Zita the Droidbot to hack into and delete the entire Cyber Bible before anyone can stop him! The crew doesn't realize Zita has been compromised until she starts displaying some puzzling behavior, including turning into an '80s rock star and lipsyncing along to a solo by epic Christian rock singer John Schlitt of Petra! (This was a particular highlight for Daniel and I, having been impacted by the ministry of Petra as we grew up. This song is sure to be a highlight for your choir and their parents!) But even as it seems Deletor has succeeded in deleting the entire database of scriptures, God has not forgotten the crew of the Star Quest J-316, and leads them to meet the citizens of a not-so- technologically-advanced planet who have memorized many Bible verses in their hearts, and offer to help the crew restore the Intergalactic Bible Database. . .one verse at a time. As I wrote this musical, it was so exciting to consider the opportunity to help kids memorize some of the most important and life-changing Bible verses of our faith by setting them to music! As the crew of Star Quest J-316 restores the Intergalactic Bible Database, your choir kids will memorize between 8-17 amazing Bible verses! It is my prayer that God will use this musical in the lives of your choir children (and their parents) to deepen their knowledge of scripture and instill a desire to memorize God's Word and let it change their lives! Feel free to contact me with questions or to share the great things that God is doing in your groups. Check out my Facebook group page: "Christy Semsen's Epic Kids Choir Forum." You can become a member and use it as a resource to communicate with other directors who have posted questions, photos, and videos of their productions.
