SCENE 5 ESTHER: I think I've got it: we need to always be ready so when God calls us, we can hear it! HARPER: No, I think I've got it: when we talk to God, He can always hear us. JEREMY: No, I think I know what he's saying: don't ever put your heart in airplane mode! (Kids laugh) COACH WALKER: Well, I think all of you are right . . . although Jeremy, I don't think I've ever heard it explained quite that way. SARA: That sounds just perfect. But I have a question— RUDY: (interrupts) She wants to know: what do we have to do for God to call us? SARA: I still don't believe he really has an app that knows what we are going to ask, but . . . RUDY: (interrupts) But that is what you were going to ask, isn't it? SARA: Maybe . . . HARPER: I was wondering that same thing. How do we get on God's "call list"? COACH WALKER: Well, kids, that's a great question, and I think you're going to like the answer. If you had a Bible here, I would tell you to look up 2 Timothy 1:9, where it says— ESTHER: (interrupts) I've got it! I've got it! SARA: You've got the app that finishes sentences? ESTHER: No, I've got an app with the Bible on it! COACH WALKER: That's great, Esther! Why don't you read it to us? ESTHER: It says that God saved us and CALLED us to a holy life . . . not because of ANYTHING we have done. COACH WALKER: That is right. We can't earn it, and we don't deserve it. But God calls us anyway. 44 All About the Call For Preview Only
