2 65/2086&87L-2 Foreword The Christmas season – perhaps the most wonderful season mankind has ever known. A time when we anticipate the coming of The Messiah, child that came to Earth as God wrapped in flesh to shed light in the darkness, bring hope to the hopeless, and peace to the restless. This resource has been assembled to lead you and your congregation through this season with reflective Advent selections and worshipful Christmas anthems as you celebrate the coming of Christ and meditate on the wonderful gift that God has given us. The flexible nature will allow you to use this resource with your choir year after year. These anthems can be performed in sequence as a standalone musical production, or they can be selectively programmed throughout the Christmas season. Each selection can be performed with piano accompaniment or with optional instrumentation accompanied by a recommended scripture reading and piano underscore. The underscore is intended to be vamped as the scripture is read (your accompanist may need to repeat as needed). Each underscore can end on the recommended ending or segue immediately into the subsequent anthem. —The Publisher Some of the cover-art images and graphics from this work are available as free downloads.
