Monotype for Winds—Charles Booker.
"Monotype" is a printmaking process whereby a single print
is made by transferring paint or ink from a smooth glass or
metal surface. In this case, it's used to best describe this single-
movement work in sound. The dramatic opening begins with a
low brass motive supported by active percussion, growing as all
the instrumental sections join in. The texture grows in numbers,
creating a menagerie of sound that demands attention.

"Nostalgia" refers to a sentimental longing or wistful recollection
