The arrangement is subtle and easy to play, and there are not a lot of pieces by Pat Metheny that swing in this way. The arrangement suggests flugelhorns throughout, although trumpets would work just fine. There is solo space for alto saxophone and trumpet/ flugel. Very nice! 10162086 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 Afternoon in ParisJohn Lewis/arr. Mark Taylor. Paul Murtha has skillfully adapted and truncated this for younger players while maintaining the flavor and energy of the original. Solo piano starts things off followed by the iconic trombone solo in the medium Latin section. The exciting double time swing section features the entire ensemble, then the maestoso theme returns to close things out. Impressive! 10374166 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 Attack of the Killer Tomatoesarr. Ralph Ford. Crazy title? It's from the movie of the same name and is a tongue-in-cheek swing chart adapted from a much more difficult chart by Gordon Goodwin for his Big Phat Band. Arranged by Ralph Ford for developing players, it will be a hit with both the band and the audience. No improvised solos, just ensemble playing and some great section solis. This will be a fun chart for any performance! Highly recommended! Optional expanded instrumentation. 10071882 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 n Attitude AdjustmentLarry Barton. This bright, bluesy shuffle features a triplet rhythmic figure that is a strong hook and opens with the rhythm section setting the groove and a piano solo which may be played as written or improvised. A great sax soli follows with the opening statement accompanied by stop-time figures in the rhythm section and is answered by the brass. As the chart unfolds, the melody is segmented and passed around the horns.
