Based on Thomas Moore's famous song The Minstrel Boy, this work uses the full gamut of styles and techniques, from bagpipe drones to lyrical playing and even fiddle music. The work is composed of three variations that run together seamlessly. The first variation presents the entire tune, much more upbeat than it is usually performed. The second, lyrical section is absolutely beautiful and offers an opportunity for working on musicianship and phrasing without overextending the group technically. The final section is fiddle music and takes the audience on a thrill ride that builds to a glorious conclusion. A wonderful piece to showcase your group! 10008688 String Orchestra. . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 10008689 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . . 5.00 VikingSoon Hee Newbold. This original piece is in a style reminiscent of the music of the rich cultural heritage of the Appalachia. Music is an important part of the Appalachian way of life. Smith. Imagine living in the 1920s and hearing an airplane flying closely over your home for the first time. Many folks would be very curious by such an event and delighted by the aerial spectacle that followed. These pilots were called "barnstormers" because they would often land their planes in a farmer's field close to a barn. The work features energetic rhythms and memorable melodies along with percussive clapping. 10696526 String Orchestra. . . . . . . . . . . 47.00 10696527 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . . 6.00 Beale Street StrutDoug Spata. Taking its name from the epicenter of Southern jazz in Memphis, this fun little boogie will get the orchestra moving! Day. Upon hearing the words "Big Sky Country," one typically thinks of Montana. This piece, however, depicts any place where the sky is vast, the view expansive, and the setting natural. The elements of the music, with sweeping melodic phrases and a few key changes, (G, C, D) suggest a spirit of adventure, freedom, the outdoors, and the beauty of the land. This lively piece, with melodic parts for all and using slurs, accents, divisi, syncopation, and accidentals, will capture the enthusiasm of players and audience alike! 10738931 String Orchestra. . . . . . . . . . . 49.00 10738963 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . . 9.00 H Blue Fire FiddlerSoon Hee Newbold. Energetic, exciting and fun, are the words that best describe this kickin' fiddle tune. This fast and furious fiddling piece sounds much harder than it really is. Riffs, finger patterns and bowings are very idiomatic and lend themselves to fast playing. This is sure to be the hit of the concert! 2474322 String Orchestra. . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 H Blue RhythmicoKirt N. Mosier. Like the title implies, there's a powerful rhythm and some jazzy blue notes, nothing subtle here! This original uses guitar-like riffs and a driving ostinato bass line in the low strings to build up to a powerful sound. 2481200 String Orchestra. . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 10000751 Additional Score. . . . . . . . . . . 10.00 Make bill paying easier!
