SCENE 3 CAROL: So, Mr. Southwell . . . what was that miracle you started to tell us about? MR. SOUTHWELL: Well . . . it was about how Jesus is always on time and never too late to do what He needs to do. His timing is perfect. But . . . I think you may already understand it. JULIA: (panicking) Uh, oh . . . I just felt a raindrop . . . and another one . . . and another! (Kids start reacting to rain) BENNETT: I did, too! CAROL: Me, too! MR. SOUTHWELL: We may need a miracle to get this rain to hold off for a little bit longer. MASON: (to Mr. Southwell) I don't guess you have any Bible stories about God stopping the rain, do you? MR. SOUTHWELL: As a matter of fact, I do! It's a story about a boat, a storm, some frightened disciples, and the power of faith. BENNETT: You'd better tell it fast, or we're gonna need a boat, too! MARLEY: Oh, I remember this story! Jesus was on a boat with His disciples, and He fell asleep. MR. SOUTHWELL: (encouragingly) Yes, go on . . . CAROL: It was getting really dark outside . . . BENNETT: Okay, you've got my attention now. MARLEY: The disciples got really scared, so they woke Jesus up. MASON: . . . Aaaaannnd . . . He had some food for everybody? ALL: Noooooooo! CAROL: He had something way better than food. MR. SOUTHWELL: That's right! Jesus stood up in the boat, whispered "peace" to the storm . . . and the Bible says everything immediately calmed down. ( music begins to "Make the Storm Stop") You know . . . when Jesus speaks, even the wind obeys! t < 6 33 For Preview Only
