SCENE 4 (When song ends, Mr. Southwell receives indication to re-enter school.) MR. SOUTHWELL: Good news, everybody! We just got the "all clear" from the principal. We can go back into our room now! JULIA: (dryly) Suuuure. NOW they let us back in . . . after the rain has stopped. CAROL: . . . And the fire truck came! MASON: . . . And we even had some lunch! MR. SOUTHWELL: Yes, but more importantly, we saw some real-life, up-close reminders of the miracles of Jesus. MARLEY: Hey, I really like the way we learned today! I never knew how much the Bible had in common with a fire drill. BENNETT: I think you should have told the story about how the Wise Men were firefighters . . . JULIA: (quizzical) What in the world would make you say that??? BENNETT: Well, one time I heard my Uncle Curtis say they came from afar* . . . (All groan, "Boo!" "Oh, man!", "BENNETT!", etc.) MR. SOUTHWELL: This has definitely been a day we won't forget. I hope you'll remember the Bible stories we talked about. In fact, before we go back inside, can I tell you about one more miracle Jesus still performs? JULIA: We're not gonna get wet, are we? MR. SOUTHWELL: No, you're not gonna get wet. In 1st John, chapter one, verse nine, it says that if we tell God what we have done wrong, and that we're truly sorry, He will forgive us. ( music begins to "All Clear") BENNETT: Now that's an "all clear" even I can understand! (*affected drawl to sound like "a fire.") o < 7 41 For Preview Only
