Creative Adaptation of the Vocal Parts
• An SATB quartet may sing the section in "Once in Royal David's City" beginning with
the text "Jesus is our lifelong pattern" in measure 42 and ending in measure 54.
• e opening stanza of "Once in Royal David's City" may be sung by a unison treble choir.
• Measures 10–25 in "Sing We Now if Christmas" may be sung by two soloists.
• On cue, the congregation may join in singing the refrain throughout to "Angels We Have
Heard on High."
