Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing—arr.
Randall Standridge. The arranger chose this
reverent, yet somewhat sad-sounding hymn
to arrange for band in honor of the life and
influence of his grandmother, who passed away
in 2012. Moving from moments of quiet beauty
though hugely magnificent waves of sound, this
powerful arrangement is a great example of the
expressiveness and power that can be achieved by
a fine concert band work. The final statement of the
hymn tune melody by a solo clarinet wraps up this
memorable hymn tune arrangement in a reverent,
quiet way.

tune Lobe den Herren, also known as Praise to the
Lord, the Almighty, is the musical foundation of this
powerful setting. Opening with awesome power
and majesty, it then moves into a more reflective
and serene style with hints from the hymn. The
tune moves through several moods of great joy
and happiness followed by sorrow and sadness.
In the end a glorious version of the hymn tune
depicts triumph before the piece ends in a calm
and peaceful style.

melody was originally a choral work entitled All
Praise to Thee with text based on a chorale written
by Martin Luther and first published in 1524. This

extremely effective in capturing and enhancing the
rich harmonies and haunting melody of the original.
