Narrator 2: Even as He anticipated the difficult hours soon to
come, Jesus gathered His disciples in an upper room
to celebrate the Passover Feast. His words were
tender and His message one of encouragement: "
As
the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. If you
obey My commands, you will remain in My love."

Narrator 1: After sharing the Passover meal and some intimate
moments of teaching and encouragement, Jesus
and His closest followers went to a place called
Gethsemane. There, in the darkest hours of His
earthly life, He fully embraced God's plan to offer
Himself as a sacrifice for the people He had come to
save.
Narrator 2: On this most difficult of nights, Jesus found Himself
rejected by the very people He had come to love and
redeem. Even His closest followers would soon fall
away as He walked the path set before Him in an act
of humble submission.
