Narrator 2: The disciple John penned these words: "This is how
God showed His love among us: He sent His one and
only Son into the world that we might live through
Him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that He
loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for
our sins."

Narrator 1: In the darkest hours of human history, the Son of God
was nailed to a cross to die a criminal's death. Yet,
even then, the prevailing theme was love as He asked
God to forgive those responsible for His execution.

Narrator 2: As the hours passed, His body weakened and His
mission completed, Jesus displayed yet one more act
of love and compassion to those closest to Him. He
instructed the disciple John to care for His mother,
Mary. In those final moments He again demonstrated
the importance of loving God and each other.
Narrator 1: The Holy Lamb of God then uttered His final words:
"It is finished." And with that, Jesus bowed His head
and died.
Narrator 2: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive
power and wealth and wisdom and strength and
honor and glory and praise!"
