Topping the charts as well as being featured in the movie "Trolls," this hit song from Justin Timberlake features a catchy hook along with an energetic rock style. The saxes begin with the melody followed by the trumpets and there's a short written or ad lib solo for trumpet. Composed by Eugene McDaniels in the 1960s, this soulful funk tune has been recorded by a number of artists, notably Les McCann and Eddie Harris, Ray Charles, and Al Jarreau. John Wasson's version for big band features a churning groove and nice interplay between various sections of the band. The suggested soloist is alto sax, however the solo section can be adapted for any instrument. The lead trumpet range is only to written G on top of the staff and written solos are provided for alto sax and trumpet. The Who recorded their landmark rock opera "Tommy" in 1969, and from the album Pinball Wizard went on to become an enduring classic.
