4e I Feel a Change Is Coming—Jim Papoulis.
Created through a collaborative effort between
the composer and the young people in his
songwriting workshop, here are words of hope
from middle school students who see the change
beginning with them: "... if we're united we can be
the change!" These words of hope and inspiration
are set to a song of quiet intensity crafted through
an artistic process between the composer and
the students.

n I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud—Linda Tutas
Haugen. A lyrical setting of Wordsworth's poem
illustrating the discovery of daffodils beside a
lake with a simple melody enhanced with rich
harmony and changing meters. Wordsworth
wrote this poem based on an experience he and
his sister Dorothy had while hiking in England's
Lake District, when they came upon a "highway"
of daffodils, "a long belt of them along the shore,
about the breadth of a country turnpike road."

of resilience and home presented chorally in

Hammell. This elegant piece is blessed with
beautiful melodies that all vocal parts have turns

t Indodana—arr. Michael Barrett & Ralf Schmitt.
This highly dramatic traditional African song is
a true musical gem, presented a cappella at a
slower tempo. Arranged by two South African
composers, the ethnic flavor is palpable as the
upper voices carry the melody and the lower
voices provide the harmonic underlay in the
SATB version, while the SSA version uses a
small ensemble to present the melody with the
remainder of the choir providing the harmony.
Translation and pronunciation notes are provided.

where has the innocence gone?"
