HL Come in from the Firefly Darkness—Amy
e F. Bernon. This exquisite work has a haunting
yet whimsical quality as it tells its story from the
viewpoint of a wanderer who has returned home
to share life's experiences, only to leave again in
the final, bittersweet measures. "Open up your
door, my friend, and let me come in from the
firefly darkness..." A beautifully poetic text, set to
shimmering music, this sings so naturally that it
will really let your voices soar!

l Diu Diu Dang—Keith Montgomery. This Taiwan-
ese folk song is about the dripping "diu diu" sound
that the passengers used to hear as they rode the
old locomotives through the Fulong Old Caoling
railway tunnel on their journeys to the seaside.
The a cappella voices provide the sound of the
train, the drip-drop sounds and the passengers'
song through their journey. A pronunciation guide
and a translation are provided in the score.
