I Wonder as I Wander—arr. Arnold Sherman.
Emotionally powerful, this setting captures
the mystery and thoughtfulness of the well-
loved Appalachian carol. Random malleting on
suspended bells creates an ethereal "starry" effect
which gives way to a verse underscored with
flowing and harmonically rich accompaniment. A
key change gives way to a more powerful iteration
of the theme before the piece ends as it began
and gently fades away. This is a beautiful piece for
concert or worship.
