Victor Lopez. Van Morrison's hit is a natural for jazz ensemble. Now for bands at the easy level, this minor- key swinger is incredibly hip! The captivating melody moves through the sections of the band, sometimes in unison, sometimes in harmony, and the solo section is written for all the wind players, so you can have anyone or everyone play the written or ad lib solo. This tune is a perennial favorite with jazz lovers! 2701897 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 4 North Shore Shuffle—Dean Sorenson. The shuffle is one of the staple grooves of the big band, and this one jumps right after the opening lick and never looks back. Swinging melodies and punchy accompaniment figures are featured throughout. The shout chorus is ideal for teaching ensemble phrasing and articulation. The open solo sections offer everyone an opportunity for improvisation, and the expanded scoring is great for all kinds of bands. Get ready to swing with this one! 11199707 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 4 On a Misty Night—Tadd Dameron/arr. Terry White. This is sweet! This Tadd Dameron swing classic scored for young jazz bands doesn't try to be overly clever or tricky. It's just straight- ahead swing style at a moderate tempo all the way. There is an abundance of nice ensemble passages and short written solos for tenor and trumpet. And don't miss the interesting and accessible sax soli. An outstanding vehicle for teaching the swing style, it's also playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations. Our highest recommendation! 11198990 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 44.00 4e Sidetracked (But Not Derailed)—Peter Sciaino. Here is a swinging minor blues! Inspired by two John Coltrane compositions, Mr. PC and Locomotion, this chart moves seamlessly between sections. After the introduction and initial statement of the melody there is a nice development section that gives a dramatic send- off to the solo section. There are written solos for trumpet, alto saxophone, and piano with a killer shout chorus. 11198768 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 H Sing, Sing, Sing—Louis Prima/trans. Mike Lewis. Here it is...perhaps the most recognizable swing tune of all time! This incredible transcription is as close as you're going to come to the original (which included clarinet and less than a full compliment of brass). This chart is scored for a standard 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and rhythm, but aside from that, it is the original as played by Benny Goodman. Every lick is there, including all the Gene Krupa drum breaks! This chart is a must for every big band's library! 2411486 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60.00 H Sing, Sing, Sing—Louie Prima/arr. Victor Lopez. Yep, this is the Sing, Sing, Sing you know and love, made famous by Gene Krupa and the Benny Goodman Orchestra, only arranged for young players by Victor Lopez. The classic drum solo that can be opened up for as much excitement as the crowd can stand, along with a written-out tenor solo, reasonable brass ranges and lots of meaty ensembles keep this great chart exciting. It will also sound full with reduced instrumentation or with the optional, non-jazz band parts. It's still a showstopper! Highly recommended! 2702806 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 H Work Song—Nat Adderley/arr. Erik Morales. Wow! If Nat Adderley could hear this chart on his iconic jazz standard, he would be pleased! The first statement stays very close to the original, which is a good thing. The solos are for written or improvised alto and trumpet, and the solo backgrounds are simply wonderful. This swinger plays well at about 176 bmp, has excellent full- ensemble passages, a bari sax and rhythm section break before the last chorus, an exciting shout chorus, and great development. This chart has it all! Our highest recommendation! 10513905 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 52.00 medium-easy 4 And Stay Out!—Terry White. Get ready to swing hard! This easy medium-tempo blues in B-flat features some great ensemble section-writing and the band has some nice shout moments throughout. The solo sections feature the trumpet, trombone and later alto or tenor sax with written solos included. This is a great tune to get the energy going at your next concert! 11202577 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 H Autumn Leaves—Joseph Kosma/arr. Peter Blair. This is a great old tune! Except...there's nothing "old" sounding about it. It's a medium swing version of a marvelous, often-played standard that opens with an alto and trumpet duet and is filled with tight ensemble punches. The saxes are featured on a chorus and there is a written or ad lib solo for piano. 2406361 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 e Bad Dog!—Mike Dana. Here's a great opener, closer, or anything in between! This swinging shuffle features cool lines, surprising harmonies, great rhythm section hooks, and much more. Notated rhythm section parts, reasonable brass ranges, and flexibly written or improvised solo space make this chart a winner. Additionally, it has a nice feel, a fine harmonic structure, and a dynamic shout chorus. Scored for standard big band, it's also playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentation and includes a helpful guitar chord chart. No bad dogs here! 10999970 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 e Diggin' the New Digs (from Incredibles 2)—Michael Giacchino/arr. Paul Murtha. From the entertaining soundtrack of "Incredibles 2" comes this marvelous jazz waltz that works great for full jazz band. Baritone sax gets a rare turn in the spotlight, followed by the brass section with sax answers. The solo section can feature any combination of alto sax, trumpet, or trombone with suggested or improvised solos. A fun change of pace and highly recommended! 10960664 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 He Don't Get Around Much Anymore—Ellington & Russell/arr. Mark Taylor. One of the classic trademark tunes from the Duke Ellington library, this familiar jazz standard is solidly scored for younger players by Mark Taylor. When it comes to accessible charts in a medium swing style, this one can't be beat! Highly recommended! 10427404 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 4 Eli Is Here!—Bob Curnow. Based on a medium- slow, swinging feel, this chart moves quickly with the tenors and trombones stating the theme. The second statement is surrounded with lots of lines that weave in and out. This is followed by a tenor sax solo, then the full ensemble sets up a trombone solo. The ensemble once again takes over before the drums state some short solo passages. Everyone will love the Basie style that this chart emulates! 11202792 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 4e Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum—Wayne Shorter/arr. Mark Taylor. From Wayne Shorter's influential 1964 album Speak No Evil, this jazz standard is transformed here for developing jazz bands by Mark Taylor. The relaxed swing feel and harmonies of the original are all retained, and solos for tenor sax and trumpet are included. 11172115 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 45.00 4 A Few Miles More—Mike Hammonds. This original composition puts everyone deep in that swinging groove from the start! Based on a 12- bar blues in E flat, it features exciting throwback styles including stop-time and call and response - just like those famous jam sessions of yesteryear. The shout chorus drives the tune home and keeps the whole ensemble fully engaged to the end. Your band will sound like they are jamming with the greats on this one! 11206946 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 24 JAZZ ENSEMBLE " Your company is soooo fast when ordering/shipping!
