Featuring a churning swing style and a catchy riff-based melody, this well-crafted chart spins its way through every section of the ensemble. In the solo section, written samples are provided for tenor, trumpet, and trombone, however with the easy changes and open format, anyone in the band can take a solo. This chart is highly caffeinated and a lot of fun! 11100136 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . .55.00 H Dat Dere—Bobby Timmons/arr. Erik Morales. A soulful tune with a catchy title and melody! Erik Morales captures composer Bobby Timmons' medium swing groove. At a moderate tempo, with a slightly mysterious intro, the saxes grab the melody and it builds from there. A written (or ad lib) alto solo is provided with a fat shout chorus. This is an outstanding chart in every respect! Highly recommended! 10277767 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . .52.00 4e Down a Notch—Paul Baker. A medium-slow 12- bar blues in the Basie tradition, with accessible figures that swing hard. At this tempo the band can focus on the swing style and really make the shout chorus shout! The chart opens with two choruses of piano solo before the saxes come in to state the melody. After a strong send-off, the floor is open for soloists. This chart ends with a big shout chorus! Trumpet range is to written high C; trombone range is to G. You don't want to miss this one! 11207710 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . .50.00 4 Fascinating Rhythm—George Gershwin/arr. Charles Booker. This classic George Gershwin song from the Great American Songbook has been recorded by many great artists from Fred and Adelle Astaire in 1926 to Tony Bennett and Diana Krall in 2018. This arrangement takes us through an array of styles and reminds us why these great Gershwin classics remain such an important part of American music. There are solo opportunities for alto and tenor, written or improvised. This is a "fascinating" chart! 11199920 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 68.00 4 Have Bass, Will Travel—Bob Curnow. This slow swing opens up with your bass player soloing (written or improved) for 12 bars before the band moves in with a cool, quiet, rich statement of the theme. Give your bass player a shot at this feature! Bass is featured throughout. Two different bass parts are included; one with a written solo throughout and one with just changes for the more mature player. Moderate ranges for all makes this a very accessible chart for most bands. 11202788 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 4e Hittin' at Minton's—Paul Baker. Named after the legendary Harlem nightclub where bebop was born, this medium swing chart speaks the language of bebop from the first measure to the last. Trumpets and altos state the melody echoing Bird and Diz. Solo space is provided for alto sax and trumpet. A challenging shout chorus follows, leading to the grand finale. Trumpet range is to written high C; trombone range is to G. Give your students experience with the language of bebop! 11207706 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 e Honeysuckle Rose—Thomas "Fats" Waller/arr. Paul Baker. Here's a swingin' jazz classic played around 156 bpm with written suggested solos provided for alto sax 1 and trumpet 2 with cues for piano and trumpet 1. The sax soli, drum fills, a few familiar quotes, along with well-notated rhythm section parts all come together to create a fine chart that will make developing groups shine. A nice swing chart done well! 10997198 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 48.00 4e How the Mind Wanders—Lars Halle. Add some variety and a change of pace to any program with this buoyant, medium-tempo swinger for advancing groups that evokes classics like Li'l Darlin' and Cute. Although written or improvised solo space is provided for alto saxophone and trumpet, it's the band that truly shines on this outstanding chart. Additional features include standard instrumentation with trumpets on flugelhorns and optional vibes. A very helpful guitar chord chart is included in the set. This is not to be missed! 11191611 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 52.00 4 The Main Attraction—Kris Berg. "The Main Attraction" is a hard drivin' shuffle in the style of Basie, Thad and Mel, and Phil Wilson, but with a slightly more modern groove. This is the perfect opener for any concert or festival! The tune is based on a 16-bar blues, features lots of ensemble for the band, and has solo spots for any saxophone, brass player, guitarist or pianist. Your performance can't go wrong if you're featuring "The Main Attraction!" 11206980 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 He Moanin'—Charles Mingus/arr. Andrew Homzy. Here's a playable yet very effective arrangement of this signature Mingus composition. The familiar baritone sax riff is handled by three saxes, and there is also a substantial soli for the entire saxophone section. Optional parts are included for flute, clarinet and French horn. A terrific introduction to the genius of Mingus! 10041748 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 4 A Night at the Golden Nugget (Edited Edition)—Gene Roland/arr. Bob Curnow. This is one of the highly original swinging charts featured on Stan Kenton's Adventure in Blues album. This edited version is written for standard big band instrumentation. This edition eases some of the challenges of the original along with changing the instrumentation. Alto sax and trumpet are soloists on this medium blues swinger. It is a lot of fun to play! 11202786 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 4e Non-Stop Hustle—Mike Tomaro. This jazz samba will provide any program with some interesting variety. The strong melody is orchestrated beautifully, and the chart also provides solo space for your featured soloists (written or ad lib). Perfect for concert or festival programming. 11199506 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 52.00 4e Oh, Lady Be Good—George Gershwin/arr. Matt Morey. A high-energy intro sets the tone for this hard-swinging arrangement of the classic Gershwin song. The trombone section is featured on the melody as the saxes provide accompaniment. Solo opportunities for trumpet and trombone follow. A brief trumpet section soli starts the shout chorus before the rest of the ensemble joins in. This chart is loud and proud from beginning to end and will show off a strong band to its fullest. Check this one out! 11207702 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 He Out of the Doghouse—Erik Morales. Arranger/ composer Erik Morales delivers! This outstanding shuffle chart sounds like a big old freight train coming down the tracks, and it just builds and builds! There's a wonderful section after the optional solos that features a powerful sax soli without the rhythm section, and there are great breaks for piano and drums throughout. There are also some independent bari sax lines and optional written solos for alto, tenor and guitar. The lead trumpet range is to written A above the staff and there's an optional ending with lead trumpet notes up to C. This is a hot chart! Our highest recommendation! Optional expanded instrumentation. 10068803 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 52.00 4 Saxomania—Rich Woolworth. As the title implies, this swingin' chart features the saxophone section in all of its glory! Written in a 12-bar blues style, there is space for all your sax players to play written or improvised solos over the B-flat blues. With a catchy melody and some well-written big blow sections, this tune is sure to be a favorite of your entire band and, most importantly, the saxes! 11202587 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 50.00 H Sing, Sing, Sing—Louis Prima/trans. Mike Lewis. Here it is...perhaps the most recognizable swing tune of all time! This incredible transcription is as close as you're going to come to the original (which included clarinet and less than a full compliment of brass). This chart is scored for a standard 5 saxes, 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and rhythm, but aside from that, it is the original as played by Benny Goodman. Every lick is there, including all the Gene Krupa drum breaks! This chart is a must for every big band's library! 2411486 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 60.00 4e Solar—Miles Davis/arr. John Wasson. From his early "cool" period, this Miles Davis standard is arranged here in a contemporary setting featuring alto sax and flugelhorn on the melody. Solo space is provided for each, and a full-band soli treatment rounds out this superb chart. 11171982 Jazz Ensemble . . . . . . . . . . . . . 55.00 27 " You are amazing, truly amazing!" — Tom Hammett, Customer since 1971 Hixson, TN
