This major work is a seven-movement setting of Psalm 100, predominantly in Latin. Inserted within the work are interjections of the text "Shout to the Lord, all ye lands!" in eight different languages. The work may be performed entirely by an SATB choir, or some or all of the treble choir options in the treble part may be used along with the SATB choir. Part-dominant rehearsal videos and pronunciation guides for the languages are available for free on the composer's website. There are three different orchestrations of the work available, ranging from a large orchestration to a nine-instrument chamber version. This piece was commissioned by the Indianapolis Children's Chorus to honor its distinguished conductor of 30 years, Henry Leck. Seen by the composer as a partner composition to his Requiem for the Living, Forrest's Jubilate Deo is a great addition to the repertoire. Cast in eight movements, this major work draws on texts that examine the many facets of death, the pain of transitions, and the hope and joy of a better place. Designed to be accessible for the choir looking to prepare a larger work within the constraints of limited rehearsal time, this work provides conservative ranges and straightforward rhythms that allow time to craft a more artistic performance. The work is scored for choir, organ or piano, and optional string orchestra. Each of the movements is available separately; the work as a whole or as individual parts is recommended for concert or liturgical service use. Movements: 1. Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep; 2. I Seek a Faith; 3. The Lord Is My Shepherd; 4. A Light Shines in the Darkness; 5. Death Shall Be No More; 6. I Saw a New Heaven; 7. Love Conquers All; 8. When this magnificent choral work made its debut in 1997, it was immediately recorded by the Los Angeles Master Chorale and received a Grammy nomination. Since then, it has earned a place in the choral repertoire as one of the most significant musical statements of the 20th century. The a cappella movement O Nata Lux is a pristine example of Lauridsen's compositional style, and the combined effect of Lauridsen's soaring melodies and clustered harmonic textures is truly ethereal. A work of uncompromising beauty for the accomplished choir. 5615992 SATB Choral Score . . . . . . . . . . . 7.95 5650247 SATB Choral Score Choral/Organ Score . . . . . . . . . 22.95 5874094 SATB Full Score SATB & Orchestra . . . . . . . . . . . 39.95 H Mass in G—Franz Schubert/ed. Millions of musicians have been thrilled by performances of this exceptional masterwork.
