This work was inspired by the nuptial Mass of a former student, who had arranged for her chorus to sing for the ceremony. One of the texts read at the wedding was the passage from the Song of Solomon used in this work. The approach is joyful rather than romantic, the vocal parts approachable but interesting thanks to rhythmic interplay and a variety of textures. William Henry Davies' text is given a driving, rhythmic setting for mixed or treble choirs that encourages singer and listener alike to "sing out!" their songs of joy. The contrasting middle section is undergirded with rhythmic energy from the piano accompaniment, while allowing for the choral lines to explore more contemplative lyrical phrasing before a return to the joyful texture of the beginning. Inspiring and reflective, the rich harmonies capture both a sense of poignancy and hope. "May you always remember when the shadows fall, you do not walk alone." This ethereal setting of a traditional Irish blessing is scored for mixed or treble voices and piano with deft strokes of Celtic styling and a melody that weaves throughout the vocal texture.
