Costumes
Keep costumes simple and fun. If utilizing the nativity option, have traditional
Biblical costumes available for actors. For choir and narrators, there are a variety
of color options:
All Black – Have all children dress in black pants, long-sleeve shirts, and shoes.
Leaving the color popping in your decorations.
Colors – Have all children dress in a variety of colored shirts. Red and Green,
of course, are favorites for Christmas. You can assign certain colors randomly or
to different age groups. Solid color shirts are preferred. This can be a fun, festive
was to add to the event. Choose either blue jeans or black pants to keep the
outfits uniform.
Bonus Idea – Have all children make shirts in their class time leading up to the
performance. Buy shirts that are all the same color (white, red, green) and have
them use stencils, handprints, or sponges to design their own shirts for the event.
You could paint "The Wonder of Christmas" on all of them beforehand so they all
match a little but show the kids creativity as well. Then they also have a souvenir
to remember the performance as well!
