Made famous by The Count Basie Orchestra, here is a great-sounding yet playable version of this standard for developing bands. This tune is better known as Walk Tall and was originally performed by Cannonball Adderley's quintet. Made famous by Woody Herman's Thundering Herd, here is a fun chart from the early swing era. The saxes do most of the heavy lifting, supported by punches and backgrounds in the brass. Suggested solos are included along with chord/scale sheets in all keys, and it's playable with optional reduced or expanded instrumentations. Wow, this is great! Mike Story has created an ideal easy swing/shuffle chart on a great blues melody by Sweets Edison. Centerpiece is accessible with easy brass ranges, a medium swing tempo of 120 bpm, along with brief written or improvised solos for tenor sax, trumpet, and alto sax. Well- notated rhythm section parts are included along with optional parts for flute, clarinet and vibes. Also playable with optional reduced instrumentations, this great blues tune has been recorded by all the greats and will become a staple of your library! Based on the chord changes to Gershwin's I Got Rhythm, this bright swing chart was written especially for young groups. The brass ranges are accessible with trumpet up to Eb5 and D4 for trombone. The rhythm section parts provide the drummer with a solid concept of what to play, plus there are notated piano voicings and bass lines. The solo section is written out with solo sheets provided in all keys along with scales to assist improvisation.
