At a tempo around 120 BPM, this wonderful swing chart is a great choice for young players. The features include written piano, alto sax and trumpet solos and a swingin' shout chorus. Look for clear and accurate rhythm section writing, optional vibes, flute, clarinet, horn, baritone horn and tuba parts are included. Oh, yes! This fiery Latin tune has become a jazz standard over the years, and here it is in an accessible arrangement for young jazz ensembles. The overall style is swing with a touch of Latin thrown in to keep the excitement up. Played around 168 bpm, written solos are provided for alto 1 and trumpet 1, and the trumpet 1 range is to written F top line. The creative scoring includes reduced or expanded instrumentation options.
