T. Smith award for this emotional composition.
Commissioned after the death of a high school
band member, the piece is intended to be a
celebration and reaffirmation of life. The various
moods of the piece are presented with both power
and sensitivity.

Kristofferson. This rich work adds much to

solo with a lushly scored accompaniment. The
