Alabama Gal—New England Dancing Masters. The New
England Dancing Masters are internationally celebrated for
bringing traditional Anglo-American dances and singing
games to untold numbers of children and adults of all ages.

Chimes of Dunkirk—New England Dancing Masters.
Teachers in elementary classrooms, summer camps,
and community centers will find in this resource an easily
accessible route to teaching 20 traditional square, circle,
longways, and contra dances. These joyous dances are
drawn from the folk traditions of North America and the
British Isles. Each section begins with a description of the
dance and a diagram for each formation. Many of the dances
share many of the same movements and types of music.
Ideas for teaching dance successfully in schools, a glossary
of dance terms, and transcriptions of the dance tunes are
included. It is not necessary to be a musician or experienced
dancer to use this book. The dances follow easy-going
walking steps, skipping, and sashaying. Using the recording,
which features New England's finest musicians playing all
the music needed to teach the dances, allows the teacher to
dance along with the students. Use the handy DVD to gain
tips and techniques on teaching 17 of the traditional dances
from the Chimes collection.

the 2014 edition of the original 1992 collection of 21 of Peter
and Mary Alice Amidon's favorite traditional singing games
from the United States and the British Isles. Included are tips
on teaching dance in the classroom, transcriptions of the
melodies, and a glossary of dance terms. The CD features
the Amidon family (when Sam and Stefan were sopranos)
singing the songs accompanied by a variety of instruments.
