Chant and Jubilo—W Francis McBeth/arr.
Clarence E. Barber. This work is playable by any
SSATB combination of woodwind, brass, and
string players with optional percussion. Beginning
with a sensitive unison Chant reminiscent of
early church organum, and then exploding with
brass and percussion in the Jubilo, this is a very
dramatic yet quite playable work. It has been
recognized as one of the most outstanding of the
composer's works and is justly regarded as one
of the classics of the band repertoire.

Cradle Moon—Carl Holmquist. This lush ballad
is a setting of a lullaby tune that has been passed
down through at least five generations of the
composer's family. As few as five players and as

returning to the calm settling of a child drifting
off to sleep. This has been arranged for flexible
ensemble and is accessible by many groups

subtle work for wind band that features slowly
shifting curtains of sound with optional harp
