"God prove[d] his … love for us in that while we were still
sinners, [His Son Jesus] died for us" (Romans 5:8, CSB).
There is nothing that we can do to earn or deserve His love.
And if we belong to Him, there is nothing we can do that
would make Him turn His back on us.
"For [we] are saved by grace through faith, and [it] is not
from [ourselves]; it is God's gift — not from works, so … no
one can boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9, CSB).
