Narration 1
Narrator 1: (to be read over the underscore in measures 1-18; begin m. 5) It
was just a few days before the Passover Feast. Jesus and His
disciples were making their way to Jerusalem to celebrate
the sacred Jewish festival.
Narrator 2: A large crowd heard that Jesus had stopped in Bethany to
share a meal with His friend Mary, her sister Martha, and
their brother Lazarus whom Jesus had raised from the dead.
People gathered to observe this compelling prophet who
had demonstrated such miraculous powers.
Narrator 1: The crowd continued to grow as Jesus and His followers
approached Jerusalem. As He entered the city, they took
palm branches and went out to meet Him shouting:
"Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!
Blessed is the King of Israel!"
