Their sustained "oohs" continue while the piano takes a verse. Two sung verses are followed by the hymn ending as gently as it began. This vigorous general-use anthem is a sturdy addition to the choir folder. Solid four-part writing gives a neoclassic texture, while strong unison singing delivers power and confidence to the singers. The middle section incorporates lines from beloved hymns, tossing them back and forth with the anthem's main theme. Add in the optional handbells for a dazzling effect!
