NARRATOR:
(Adult, on Stage)
Hi, everybody! Wow! There are so many people out there, it
gives me an idea! How about we put on a Christmas Show!?
ALL KIDS:Yea! (shouts and cheers)
KID #1:
Yea! A show!
KID #2:
(very precocious, good speaking voice and exaggerated arm
motions) How about an incredible . . . gigantic . . . humongous
Christmas Show!?!
ALL KIDS:
Yea! (Shouts and cheers!)
NARRATOR:
Well, OK then. Let's get started! What will we need to put
into our Humongous Christmas Show? Any ideas?
KID #3:
(runs in from off stage carrying a large Christmas stocking)
A gigantic stocking! You can't have Christmas without a
stocking!
ALL KIDS:
(respond, cheering) Yea! Hooray! A Christmas stocking!
(etc.)
KID #4:
(runs in from off stage carrying a huge candy cane made of PVC
pipe) How about a ginormous candy cane?
ALL KIDS:
Yes! Woo hoo! Candy canes!
NARRATOR:
I have an idea. What about bells!? (goes behind a chair, pulls
out a giant handbell, and acts like it is too heavy to manage—
staggering around the stage with the bell) What about a giant,
enormous, humongous bell!?
ALL KIDS:(laughing) Yes! Bells!
(DVD comes on for "Ring Little Bells")
(Archibald Asparagus, Larry the Cucumber and Children sing
along with DVD; everyone plays jingle bells, melody bells—all
kinds of bells!)
