Recorded by Grover Washington Jr. with Bill

H Pick Up the Pieces—arr. Victor Lopez. It's funk/
rock... you know it, you love it! The tune is infectious,
the arrangement is right on target with no individual
solos but plenty of section and ensemble work. The
sax soli is crazy hot and the lead trumpet range is
to written A above the staff. Lots of unison lines,
some fun bari sax licks and a very hip stop-time
interlude that really cooks. This arrangement really
works for this tune! Consider this chart a winner!
Optional expanded instrumentation.

H Sir Duke—Stevie Wonder/arr. Michael Mossman.
In 1977 Stevie Wonder was in his prime and Sir
Duke was on top of the charts. Michael Philip
Mossman takes this familiar hit and adds his own
unique touch. The opening features the brass with
sax section fills. The middle section goes into a
double-time swing and includes a solo for tenor
sax, a soli for the saxes, and a drum break. All
the familiar lines from the original are there too!
Suggested solos are included along with scale/
chord sheets in all keys. Highly recommended!

entire ensemble. Saxes are featured at the start
with interjections from the brass, followed by a

The Cool One—Benny Golson/
arr. Erik Morales. This Benny Golson standard
is creative in its treatment here as a Latin
cha-cha played at around 152 bpm. The Cool
One features expansive and brilliant ensemble
writing as well as written or improvised solos
for alto sax 1 and trumpet 2. The lead trumpet
range is up to F-sharp top line and the scoring
allows for optional reduced instrumentation
as well as optional parts included for flute and
vibes. Not to be missed for developing groups!

Havana—arr. Terry White. This breakout hit
recorded by Camila Cabello helped bring Latin
music to the pop charts. This arrangement for
young players is easy to learn and includes
sample written solos for alto sax, tenor sax,
trumpet, and trombone. It's also thoughtfully
scored to sound great with optional reduced or
expanded instrumentations.

Children of Sanchez—Chuck Mangione/
arr. Victor Lopez. Here's some great news for
bands at the medium-easy level! If the popular
Dave Wolpe arrangement of this tune was just
a bit out of reach for your band, now you can
enjoy a successful performance of this Chuck
Mangione classic using this slightly simplified
version! Victor has taken the key down a whole-
step, and has carefully adapted the ranges, with
the highest trumpet note being an A above the
staff. What a treat for developing bands!

this Rolls Royce of an arrangement is definitely
top-notch!
