THE WORD OF GOD
The people walking in darkness
have seen a great light.
On those living in the land of the shadow of death,
a light has dawned…
For unto us a Child is born,
unto us a Son is given,
and the government will be upon His shoulders,
and He will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace.

THE PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
O Lord, our night is deep, we choose shadows and hide from the light of
Your dawn. Forgive our fragile faith and grant us eyes to see Your glory
in every simple joy. Help us to rise from our despair and claim the
promise of abundant life. Restore to us the joy of Your salvation.
