A wonderfully imaginative text is perfectly wedded to a lyrical tune in this highly rewarding original for two-part voices. The colorful piano accompaniment contributes its own special character throughout, helping to create a feeling of mystery and wonder. "Everyone has their own magical kingdom, high on a hilltop and touching the sky; somewhere you go when you wish on a rainbow, somewhere you can fly... keep on believing, just keep believing in once upon a time... the land of dreams come true." Your students will embrace this magical song as their very own, and will sing their hearts out whenever they perform it! 3302179 Two-Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 3.35 Make It Shine—Bryan Sharpe. With a bright, upbeat, modern pop groove, this song is an anthem that encourages a fresh, positive outlook and perspective! Inspire song in your young singers with this "bop" that they are sure to love singing! 11393893 Two-Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.95 Malakatumba—Josu Elberdin. Born as a game, this clever piece uses imitating sounds and nonsense vocables to form words with no real meaning. It begins with four solo voices in canon over a humming harmonic accompaniment by the choir. Then it opens into the main body of the song that is quickly built by having each voice part on its own ostinato. Add the body percussion and this will be a real showstopper! 11348343 SAB with Body Percussion . . . . . . . ME 2.25 11348625 SSA with Body Percussion . . . . . . . ME 2.25 Mama Said—Ruthie Foster/arr. Paul Rardin. American blues icon Ruthie Foster released Mama Said on her 2007 recording The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster. The lyrics are a mother's advice to her daughter, warning her to "learn how to pray" and to fall on your knees before you fall in the wrong direction. This arrangement is deliberately choral, honoring Ms. Foster's exquisite vocal shadings - a bend here, a fall-off there - by avoiding exact imitation. The basses provide the rhythm section of electric bass and closed hi-hat cymbal, leaving the upper three parts in gospel harmony in all but a few measures of the piece. An arresting and totally unique setting. 11197390 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 3.05 The Marigold—Patti Drennan. Ever heard of the "marigold effect"? It involves planting marigolds around other plants to protect them from disease and pests. So, too, can we be marigolds in the lives of those around us. This affirming song speaks this truth; it is easy to learn and empowering to sing. 11393043 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.50 May a Rainbow Run Beside You—Mark Burrows. With a text taken from a variety of traditional Irish blessings, this lyrical original is the perfect way to close a concert, celebrate a graduation or moving on ceremony, or establish as a signature song for your choir. With the opportunity to teach balance and blend, both voice parts have the opportunity to sing both melody and harmony in a song that is both memorable and uplifting. 10866281 Two-Part. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . E 2.05 10881851 Multi-Song Accompaniment CD . . . . . . . 44.99 May I Be Filled—Mark Miller. Based on a Buddhist blessing, this song is a prayer for kindness, peace, well-being, and joy for all creation. The prayer moves outward like ripples on a pond with successive verses: "May I," "May you," and "May we." Opening with a solo or unison stanza, it leads through successive verses with gradually thickening voices and ever-flowing accompaniment. The audience is invited to join on the third verse. 11361426 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.40 May Wind—Jacob Narverud. This setting of the evocative Sara Teasdale poem tells a story about how experiencing nature and music can inspire deep love and happiness. Soaring vocal lines combined with rich, dissonant harmonies and a rocking piano accompaniment make this a powerful piece that will resonate with treble choirs of all ages. "Love: set me free!" 11391220 SSAA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.30 May You Heal—Mark Sirett. "May you heal, may you be well again, may you be brave, may you be strong." This beautiful original choral with cello and piano accompaniment expresses this hope for all who have faced challenges in their lives. Part of the five-song May You Heal Project, these titles offer music of comfort, peace, renewal, and self-awareness as part of our pandemic recovery. The cycle in its entirety: When Science Triumphs; Dona Nobis Pacem; May You Heal; Responsibility; I Celebrate Myself. 11398170 SATB . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.30 Measure Me, Sky!—Jonathan Reid. Floating melodic lines and resonant harmonies combine, lending an ethereal quality to this artistic piece that allows the imagination to soar. Leonora Speyer's evocative text explores our relationship to the universe, and the musical setting provides delicious cluster harmonies supported by undulating triplets in the piano accompaniment to create a sense of motion and mystique. 11314185 SATB divisi . . . . . . . . . . . . M 2.30 A Melody of Love—Jim Papoulis. Composed with young singers in a songwriting seminar, this hopeful piece resonates with the themes and musical styles of our younger generation. The lyrics are about the fact that "love, small acts of kindness, and genuine positivity can alter us," and the melody and simple harmonies are upbeat with parts that are fun to sing. 11348592 SA . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ME 2.50 Memento Vivere—Michael Bussewitz-Quarm. The final movement from Where We Find Ourselves, this exuberant piece features lyrics about honoring the past while living in the present and celebrating each day.
