Arachnid's Lair—Kirt Mosier. Though perfect
for Halloween, Arachnid's Lair can be performed
any time of year. The dark, subtle introduction with
molto crescendos and decrescendos hint at the
sinister plan an arachnid has for its prey. Dissonant
harmonies, dramatic dynamics, and tempo
changes add to the movement on the spider's web.
A brief but hauntingly beautiful viola solo is offered
in the middle section before the final buildup to an
exciting climax!

Autumn Harvest—Chris Thomas. Autumn is
a glorious time of year! The air is crisp and cool,
smelling of fireplaces, and the trees burst into a
display of amber and gold before disappearing
into winter's silence. Several variations of the main
theme explore varying keys, time signatures, and
styles. The piece builds to a joyous finale as all
the variations overlap in a cacophony of jubilant
counterpoint. A festive fall concert selection!

tango, including the chicharra technique of playing
behind the bridge! A contrasting B section in 6/8

dance journey before resuming the original melody
