Tunes, now we present an entire volume of very simple
Celtic pieces! Basic Fiddlers Philharmonic: Celtic
Fiddle Tunes is perfect for introducing fiddling to your
youngest string players. Eleven tunes from the Celtic
fiddling tradition are presented first in a simplified,
very easy "basic" version of the tune, printed with note
names in the note heads, followed by an "advanced"
but still accessible version. Each version is on its own
staff to avoid confusing young readers. Several options
for simple backups and very basic improvisation tips
are provided for each instrument. Lyrics are included
where applicable. The accompaniment CD features
recordings of the basic and the advanced tune as well
as a backup track for playing along at home or in class.

Mariachi Philharmonic—Nieto/arr. Phillips.
Experience the vibrant and exciting music of the
mariachi tradition with your string players! Lifetime
mariachi performer and educator John Nieto joins
Bob Phillips to provide authentic orchestral settings
of familiar, traditional tunes. Tunes range from the
simple ones for younger players to more challenging
tunes. These arrangements can also be played by a
mariachi band alone or jointly by a string orchestra
and a mariachi band. Trumpet and Rhythm books are
available to provide optional parts for trumpet, guitar,
guitarron, vihuela, piano and harp. All text, including
the vocal part, within the book is in both Spanish
and English. Historical background and ideas for
arrangements are provided in the Teacher's Manual.
All the string books contain the melody and melodic
harmony, accompaniment or bass part as appropriate.
The Accompaniment CD can be used an aural model
and as a performance background.
