OLIVIA:
(to GRAM) You mean, God has a family?
Absolutely! And everyone in God's family is adopted, KJ.
Yes, our memory verse in Sunday School last week talked about that: "God decided in advance to adopt us into
his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ."
(to OLIVIA, with a bit of pride in her voice) She won the award for the most Bible verses memorized. I think she
has half the Bible in her head.
So exactly how do we get into God's family?
Yeah, Gram, I want to be in God's family too.
The Bible says that the only way to God is through God's Son, Jesus Christ, Who loved us so much that He died
on the cross for our sins. When we repent—that is, turn from sin—and put our faith in Christ, we are adopted into
God's family.
So, when we become a Christian, we become a part of God's family?
Exactly! You become a part of the biggest family tree of all.
This certainly gives me a new perspective! I'm going to need a lot more paper for this chart!
